Happy Tuesday Y'all and Happy New Year!!
It's been a minute since I have written a blog. I hope you all have had a wonderful December and a Happy New Year! My December became overwhelmed with work, so I have been taking the last few weeks off to recuperate and get my mind, body and spirit back. I started to attend church again and it was in a very timely manner. It inspired this blog, so Let's dive into it shall we?
Don't stop until you Till Enough? I know, its a terrible title, but I love Michael Jackson and I thought it would be funny to make a funny. Did it work? And even if you didn't laugh, you are probably singing the song in your head right now! As I type, Yes? :) If you are singing, then good for you. It is very healthful to get lost in music. If you recall a couple blogs ago, I wrote about the book, Play, by Stuart brown. The book had several categories for people to fit into. Music and gardening were two of my activities that I was drawn to. They are two activities that relax me and bring me to a happier spot, I would highly recommend reading that blog, if you are trying to find a healthy hobby.
I mentioned in the first paragraph I started going to church again. I know this can be a sensitive subject for non-believers and I don't write this to rouse you. What I am actually about to write will probably hit home, whether you believe or not. We all want to be happy with Life. So my question for you that was asked to me at Church on Sunday. What is your Pace? How fast are you going with Life? Do you have a healthy Rhythm? Are you struggling to keep up? I can admit during my December, my rhythm and pace were not healthy. It was all work and no play. Do you remember what all work and no play did for Jack in the Shining? If you haven't seen the movie I won't spoil it. To sum it up he went a little nuts! Why did he go nuts? He lost his purpose with life. He was only driven by work and didn't take any time to enjoy life and breathe in the moments. Now it's a new year. I know many of you have resolutions, goals or to-do list and that's great. How are you going to accomplish them? Are they all about money? I am going to venture out on a limb and assume that some of them will be health related, and if they are then how are you going to improve your pace? The piece of land I tilled yesterday is not impressive by any means, its quite small actually. But I am not farming/gardening for financial gain it is for my health gain. Yesterday was the best day of my 2019 thus far. For several hours I raked, shoveled and mixed dirt, transferred compost from my backyard to my front yard. I blocked off a spot in my front yard with bricks to start my little garden. So how I like to think of it, my little piece of happiness and peace. The reason for the wonderful feeling I got to connect with earth/life/energy/God, again. In effort to help I urge you to answer these next questions. Where is your connection? What is your connection? How do you generate happiness with Life? On a personal note, I have struggled with depression and anxiety most of my life. For those of you who are struggling with these two issues, you will understand when I say you have to work at being happy. Some people are born happy, other's take effort to get them there. A healthy routine is a great start, Exercise, Diet and Sunshine. This should be apart of your daily routine. Playful acts and connecting with Life should be part of your weekly routines. All these activities will improve your pace with Life.
The information above might not do anything for you, if you are already in a great spot. And for that I am happy for you. But there is probably someone in your Life that could benefit from an awakening moment, or a helpful hand. If you know of someone who fits that description, then please send them my way I know I can help.
Until you read again,
Stay Blessed,
Michael Leto
