About The Chef!
I am the son of an immigrant. My father was born in Sicily. Growing up in an Italian household meant food was always a big deal. Especially on special occasions like holidays. I can remember a table filled with 10 different mouthwatering dishes.
My mother is American. She was brought up in an old fashion household. Food was a big part in her family, also. She demonstrated her upbringing and passion with meals she made for my brother and I. She never was afraid to push the envelope and try something new on us. I never realized how well I ate until I went to college. I experienced many bad meals my first semester. Fortunately, God had a wonderful plan. My dormitory, unlike most freshman dorms, had a kitchen which included a stove and oven. The passion and excitement for food had started in that small kitchen. I got the biggest thrill and many compliments from my hall mates after they had finished a meal by me.
Since then, I have worked with 5 different chefs. Majority of my culinary experience has come from overseas. I have spent time in kitchens in Lyon, France and various places in Italy. Learning from the best in the business! One thing in common every chef had preached to me, “You must use the freshest ingredients.” This is the approach I take with every plate and dish I create! Everything made from scratch. I don't know any other way to do it! This is why I believe The Fresh and The Best is Lil’ Leto Catering!
