Did you guess they were Turkey Eggs? Because I definitely never heard of such a thing, until I visited Payson today. I have heard of chicken, duck, quail and fish eggs, but never Turkey Eggs. It is kind of interesting, we don't eat Turkey Eggs on a regular basis. Even though, the eggs are much more bountiful, and offer a nice difference to the constant monotony of chicken eggs. I ate some tonight in my frittata. As I was first cracking the egg, I noticed it was a much denser and harder shell. It took me a couple of times to make a crack and a little more effort to open the egg. After the Turkey eggs were cracked in the bowl, I added one chicken egg, for comparison. What I found is, the color of the Turkey yolk is not the same as a chicken. A lighter yellow color, it reminded me of a yellow corn. Almost the color of butter. The yolk of a Turkey is larger, too. I didn't get the best flavor profile of it because I mixed it with other items, but I can tell you, it is much creamier and buttery than a chicken egg. Tune in tomorrow, and I will give you the full flavor profile.
Alright, the verdict is in. I prefer Turkey Eggs over Chicken Eggs. Much Creamier and less of the eggy taste. Essentially its a much more mild taste. Go find you some Turkey eggs today!
